A selection of premium quality grapes were hand harvested from mature vineyards in the Veneto, northern Italy. The grapes were crushed and gently pressed and the juice allowed to settle and clarify before cool fermentation at 16 to 18C in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine spends 3 to 6 months on fine lees before bottling.
The Badalisc is a mythical creature of the Val Camonica, in the southern central Alps. Perfect to represent this wine!
Il Badalisc is a ripe and textural Pinot Grigio and one of the best Italian Pinot Grigio's we've ever come across. Unusually, this Pinot is quite aromatic with ripe apple aromas with hints of honey and peach. The taste is brilliantly complex. Pinot Grigio usually prides itself on a clean, crisp taste and although Il Badalisc has that edge to it, this is also a wine which is textural with layers of orchard fruit, spice and fresh citrus acidity. It's a real triumph and one of the genuinely great Pinot Grigio's we've found that pairs well with food. Try this one with a Caesar salad or it will also go well with pasta dishes with salmon or chicken.
