Winemaker Giuseppe Losapio founded Azienda Uggiano in the early 1970s, and steadily developed the estate at San Vincenzo a Torri. It is now one of the leading producers in the Chianti Colli Fiorentini zone. Uggiano produces classic and classy Tuscan reds from the region's principal grape varieties.
Uggiano Chianti Riserva 'Fagiano' wine is the estate's 'flagship' barrique-aged Riserva - which collected not just a Gold medal at the 2018 Sommelier Wine Awards, but also Critics' Choice and Food Match trophies! This fabulous drop has warm, rich aromas of black cherry, dried fruits, spice and lightly balsamic notes. Richly flavoured and generous with spicy, meaty notes balancing vibrant fresh cherry and plum characters. A well-structured and integrated wine with great concentration and complexity. Perfect with a barbecued rib of beef or pappardelle pasta with porcini mushrooms.
