This fruit-forward, easy-drinking Merlot is made from grapes sourced from sun-drenched Languedoc vineyards, where the warm Mediterranean climate enables grape flavours to develop fully whilst retaining their deliciously characterful flavours. The grapes are vinified at lower temperatures than most reds to preserve primary fruit characters and to showcase their varietal characteristics. The wine receives twice daily remontage to extract colour and tannins. Meticulous blending produced the ultimate approachable and fruit-driven style, which was bottled early to capture vibrant red fruit.
Bellefontaine Merlot wine is a classic French Merlot from the Languedoc region. Herbaceous on the nose leading to red berries on the palate with earthy notes typical of merlot.
