The finest bourbon in the world comes from a single barrel. That’s the way Colonel Albert B. Blanton first bottled his private reserve bourbon nearly a century ago. Blanton believed the “centre-cut” or middle sections of Warehouse H were the best for ageing his bourbon. Personally tasting and choosing each barrel, these barrels were reserved and bottled for ambassadors, dignitaries, family and friends becoming the world’s first single barrel bourbon. His time honoured tradition lives on today as only a handful of barrels from the centre of Warehouse H are selected to become Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon.
The quality of Blanton's Original Single Barrel Bourbon is immediately apparent as soon as you open the bottle with very deep and satisfying aromas welcoming you in. The taste has a masterful start with powerful dry vanilla notes in perfect harmony with hints of honey and strong caramel. The long, creamy caramel holds the fort until some late soft peppers arrive to spice things up. The underlying dryness amid the spice and honey really makes for a bourbon that should suit all tastes. Winner of five gold medals in international spirits competitions over the last five years. It's right up there with some of the best Bourbon we've ever tasted!
