Pour l’Histoire is a tribute to our past and present. Coming from 45 year old vines in the Loire Valley, this Muscadet Sevre et Maine is a selection of grapes from the finest terroirs, vinified in underground concrete tanks and matured on the lees for 10 months bringing complexity and structure whilst maintaing a beautiful minerality.
Domaine Ménard-Gaborit Pour l’Histoire has bright and vivid stone fruit with racy acidity, brimming with vim and attitude. This Muscadet certainly hits the spot with its balance of ripe fruit and a zingy, quince-like freshness. There's an initial spritz on the tongue, but then it opens up beautifully - think citrus and a hint of something flinty. It's made from older vines, which give it more concentration, and they leave it to age in concrete tanks for a bit of extra depth. This isn't your everyday, simple Muscadet; this one's got a bit of weight and clout and it's organic.
Pairs beautifully with prawns, salmon, grilled sea bream or goat cheese.
