This forward-thinking winery in the heart of the Provence wine region is one of the select group of Côtes de Provence vineyards awarded Cru Classé status in 1955, a classification mirroring that of the great Bordeaux châteaux and based on the quality of the wines and heritage of the properties.
Winemaker Pierre Duffort’s reaction to the frivolous, fashionable ‘bling bling’ (as he describes them) rosé of recent years, Rimauresq Cuvée Rebelle Côtes de Provence Rosé encourages you back to a time when rosé was made in a slow, traditional style. A quite serious, full bodied style of rosé, Rebelle is savoury, complex and vinous. Being more savoury in style, this is a wine for food. Try with a well flavoured fish such as red mullet (perhaps accompanied by pistou, the Provencale basil-based sauce) or bouillabaisse, the fish stew of the region.
